OPENZONE IS A PLACE OF INNOVATION FOR HEALTH Where research is transformed into enterprise.
Taking care of people’s health is a responsibility for which we have always had strong feelings. Operating in a sector continuously challenged by innovation, we became aware as early as in 2001 that we have to continually communicate in order to ensure that intuitions, ideas and solutions turn into tangible opportunities for patients.
Since then, we have been engaged in a new, open and more shared way of promoting quality research. This is why years ago OpenZone was created, and why we continue to invest in this project, with the ambition of creating value by supporting entrepreneurial initiatives that have an easier and more immediate access to competences and capital.
OpenZone is the embodiment of a place for the exchange of knowledge about research and enterprise. A campus funded entirely by private capital, dedicated to Health and founded on an approach geared towards open innovation, conceived to build bridges between different competencies, languages, and worlds.
OpenZone was formed in the early 2000s, and over the years it has been endowed with rooms designed to make meetings between all of the organisations it holds easier.
Starting from KoA’, the company restaurant that over the years has become the nerve centre of casual meetings, to Open Circle, the place where open dialogue comes to life. And then there is Oxy.gen, the air bubble suspended over the water, and the Library, the place of scientific knowledge.
The campus is a space undergoing continual evolution, and in order to stay in step with the times and to arrive at the ideal size to attract the foremost expertise, an important development plan is under way. It will lead to a final surface area of 37,000 sq.m. with new spaces designed and built to ensure that the community can continuously grow and talk.
