Nestled in the countryside around Alessandria, the Castle of Piovera is a 14th-century fortress built by the Viscontis, dukes of Milan, and transformed in the 19th century into a noble residence by the Balbi family, marquises of Genoa. The current owner, Count Niccolò Calvi di Bergolo, opened it to the public in the 1970s with art workshops, guided tours and escape rooms as a team-building activity. Located near the Monferrato area, in south-eastern Piedmont, the Castle is just one hour from Turin, Milan and Genoa and 3 km from East Alessandria motorway exit. It has several indoor and outdoor spaces for dinners, conventions or exhibitions: the Orangerie, the Antica Officina and the Fienile are perfect places for conferences and parties. The outdoor spaces can be used from April to October for aperitifs or dinners under the stars.
